Here is the weekly, or somewhat more frequently than that, Walking Wounded Report.
Left-hander Andrew Miller will make a rehabilitation start Friday and throw 80 to 85 pitches for the Gulf Coast League Marlins. Miller is expected back in the majors by early September.
Right-handed reliever Burke Badenhop will make another rehab start Thursday for Single A Jupiter. He, too, will likely be brought back after Sept. 1 when rosters can be expanded.
The Marlins need the Hopper back as soon as he is up to form and judging by how he has been throwing he is up to form.
Miller on the other hand isn't exactly tearing up the minors but I do understand that during rehab assignments pitchers aren't always concerned about getting outs but testing to see whether all of the parts are working in concert. From what I have read Miller is suffering from a high ankle sprain and I would be very surprised to see him contribute anything this season, if the diagnosis is correct. High ankle sprains are really tough to get over.
