Jorge Cantu missed last night's game with a strained neck.
Cantu is dealing with a sore neck, which he started noticing in about the seventh or eighth inning on Wednesday. The discomfort became so great during batting practice on Thursday that he had to abort the session.

Cantu said after Thursday's game that the neck was still bothering him, leaving his status for Friday and beyond uncertain.
The only good thing that may come of Nick Johnson and Jorge Cantu being hurt is that it may, and I want to emphasize the word, may, give Gaby Sanchez some playing time. But if Cantu is iffy and I can't imagine the plane ride from Texas did him any favors, the Marlins are down to 11 position players and that ain't good.
