Fish Wrap - Marlins 5 Padres 0

The Marlins completed the sweep of the Padres.  Woo Hoo!

Now for another recap of a game I didn't see.

Ricky Nolasco was dealing from the start striking out Friars left and right.  In fact after Banks' single in the second, he sat down fourteen straight.  He did run into a bit a trouble in the seventh when he walked the leadoff hitter, struck out one, gave up a single and walked the next batter.  At this point the Marlins were leading 2-0, more about the offense in just a second, but the bases were loaded with only one out.  This would signal the end of Nolasco's day, and so entered Brendan Donnelly who got the Fish out of the bases loaded jam.  Donnelly started the eighth but Pinto came on in relief and Calero pitched a scoreless ninth.

On the offense side of things:  Jeremy Hermida hit a home run to leadoff the second and this would prove to be the only run the Marlins needed.  In the sixth Dan Uggla drove home Ramirez to add on to the Marlins total.  And just to make sure the game was out of reach, Coghlan went yard for a two-run shot to complete the scoring with the final total being the Marlins 5, Padres 0.

So all-in-all just another routine Marlins win.
