The Marlins are out west to face the Padres.
Rick VandenHurk will be making his first start of the year for the Marlins. It will give us a good chance to see whether Bert Blyleven's teachings during the WBC took hold.
Tim Stauffer will be making his second start of the season and as you can see his first went pretty well. (except that the Padres didn't score any runs) He is a change of speeds pitcher who throws a fast ball (90 mph), curve, slider and change. He throws his fast ball under 50% of the time.
Since we are in San Diego it is a good time to check in with our old friends at Gaslamp Ball. If you have been around awhile go over there and say hi. I'm sure they will be glad to see you.
Normally I would say something about getting ready for Midnight Baseball, but we have been playing Midnight Baseball for the last couple of weeks on the East Coast, so this is will be nothing new.
Ichthyomancy is ready for the change of scenery.
Best of Luck to You!
