The Marlins finally broke their five-game losing streak and won a game. Yay!
Miller, in his return to the rotation, was good but not great. But good isn't a bad thing around here recently. His totals for the game were 5 IP, 2 R, 4 K, 4 BB while throwing 98 pitches. The walks are a bit too high, but after looking at his pitch f/x data, he did get better in the later innings. If you decide to check the data the concern, to me, isn't the amount of non-strike pitches thrown but the number that were over the heart of the plate. In the words of the late great Waylon Jennings: "You ain't living long like this."
Be that as it may, it was a good return to the majors for Mr. Miller.
Cody and Danny showed signs they were waking up from their slumber, and that is also good.
All in all, it was nice to hear, and I emphasize hear, that the Marlins finally got a win.
[Edit] Boteman who actually witnessed the game gives his recap here. I recommend checking it out.
