Mark Wiley is staying on with the Fish.
Mark Wiley, fired by the Marlins from his old job as pitching coach, has accepted a job as a special assistant to the Marlins' general manager.
This is good news. We now have a pitching coach at the ready and someone in the front office who understands the machinations of pitching. Hopefully they will give him a decent enough expense account that he can travel around and give advice to youngsters in the system.
I will say it once more, I still don't understand why he was removed as the pitching coach.
