Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Nationals at Marlins (9/12)

This is the final home stand of the season. It will cover nine games over ten days.

The Marlins are looking to keep their win streak alive and extend it beyond 2 games for the first time in a long time.

Olsen is keeping his hard luck pitcher status alive. Overall he pitched a pretty good game last time out, but wasn't helped out by some iffy plays by the defense. If Scottie can avoid giving up the long ball, something that has plagued him of late, he should keep the Marlins in the game.

Martis will be making his second career start in the majors. Which means the Marlins will either light him up like a pinball machine or they won't touch a thing he pitches. Martis did reasonably well in his first start going 5 innings allowing 4 hits, but walking 5.

Mr. Marlin, Jeff Conine, will be making a guest appearance in the tv booth as commentator. If I read everything correctly, and don't count on that, it will be during the 5th and 6th innings.
