The Marlins are going to try this win the series thing again today.
This will be the only post of the day since we are up against a weekday day game and I have some stuff I need to do at my day job.
Volstad has pitched in two day games since joining the Marlins and did pretty well in them. Volstad's day game ERA is 2.25. His last start didn't go as well as his previous three giving up five runs in five innings. But it wasn't all his fault since he was required to get at least four outs in two of the innings due to errors. Also, the offense has yet to score more than three runs in any of his starts.
Hamels is the ace of the Phillies but he hasn't logged a win in over a month. The last time the Marlins faced Hamels he tried to do his Moyer impersonation and soft toss the Marlins. And for the most part, it went pretty well for Hamels giving up only 2 runs in 8.0 innings. The Fish went on to win the game in the 11th. It will be interesting to see if he tries that soft tossing thing again. Hamels is a lefty.
Ichthyomancy really hates weekday day games. Best of Luck to You!
