The Marlins are back home to face the Cardinals for a four game set. The Cardinals are trying to pass the Brewers in hopes of securing the Wild Card slot in the playoffs.
Sanchez wasn't as sharp in his last outing as he was in his first. But really he didn't do that badly. He gave up 3 ER in 5 innings in Philadelphia. It's not the stuff legends are made of, but I know of a lot of other NL pitchers who would gladly take it. This will be Anibal's third start since returning from shoulder surgery.
Pineiro is mainly a sinker ball pitcher but has had problems with control. Not that he walks a lot of hitters, but he has had a tendency to leave pitches up in the zone. Pineiro normally does his best work at home. His away ERA is 5.75 and he has never faced the Marlins.
Ichthyomancy is doing its usual hating of Mondays. Best of Luck to You!
