Hanley Ramirez and Dan Uggla All-Stars

As you all know by now, Hanley Ramirez and Dan Uggla are going to the All-Star game.

Hanley Ramirez and Dan Uggla, who comprise one of the most feared middle infields in Major League Baseball, are headed to the 2008 All-Star Game to represent the Marlins on the National League squad.

One of the most dynamic offensive players in the game, Ramirez earned high praise in the process, as he became the second Marlins player ever voted into the starting lineup by the fans.

Danny was selected by the player's vote.

Hanley is the second Marlins player to start in a All-Star game -- the first being Gary Sheffield in 1993.  However, Sheffield didn't join the Marlins until June 24 of that year and was basically voted in as a Padre.

Hanley is pure Marlins all the way.

ESPN is showing that Danny will participate in the Home Run Derby.  Hanley wants to do it too, but I doubt they will allow two Marlins in the competition.

My greatest concern is Uggla's ankle.  Given his swing his landing foot (the left) takes quite a pounding and that is the ankle he injured.  Unless something changes, Danny probably won't play in the game, since he doesn't have the full range of motion yet.

Nonetheless, Congratulations to Hanley and Danny!
