Cody Ross gets another start

Cody Ross tore up Coors Field and has earned the chance to start in center again.

Cody Ross further solidified his job as starting center fielder by going 12-for-20 with 15 RBI in Florida's four-game series against the Rockies.

"We didn't take him lightly. We just couldn't get him out," Rockies manager Clint Hurdle said after Ross went 3-for-5 with five RBI on Sunday.

Ross, who opened the season platooning in center field, has started every game since June 21, and the Marlins have no plans to take him out of the starting lineup any time soon.

To which Fredi said:

''I think [Ross] deserves an opportunity to play [Monday],'' manager Fredi Gonzalez joked.

The cool thing about Cody is that when he is hot, and he is, he can almost carry the offense by himself.  All the other guys have to do is figure out a way to get on base in front of him.  Reading through the open thread at Purple Row they were sick of Cody by the time the series ended.

Strange, I was happy every time he came to the plate.  Go figure.
