The Florida Marlins tied the team record for wins before the All-Star break.
...the Marlins won three of four from the Dodgers and at 50-45 are tied for the most first-half wins in franchise history.
The 1997 team also had 50 wins at the break, while the 2003 version had 49 which was the former second most. I haven't gone back and researched the exact number of games played before the break in the 1997 and 2003 seasons, however, it is still impressive. Of course, I don't have to tell you what the 1997 and 2003 seasons have in common. And I'm in no way suggesting the Marlins are going to win the World Series at this point, but it is an interesting beginning to the season -- historically.
