The Marlins are going to activate Josh Willingham on Tuesday.
Willingham played in his final rehab game Sunday with Double-A Carolina, going 0 for 2 with a strikeout and hit by pitch. In eight games with the Mudcats, Willingham went 6 for 26 (.231) with two doubles, five RBI, two walks and five strikeouts.
With Willingham rejoining the team, I guess Gonzo will get the chance to swap stories with Andino on the bench.
It may take a little time for him to get his rhythm back against major league pitching, but it will come.
It will be good to have him back, but the only problem is: that his herniated disk could flare up at anytime. But hopefully it won't for the rest of season.
With the addition of Willingham that will give the Marlins 12 pitchers and 13 position players.
