Luis Gonzalez is passing people left and right while climbing up the list for doubles in a career .
Luis Gonzalez led off the eighth with a double, giving him 579 and moving him past Wade Boggs into 17th place all-time. Next up is Robin Yount (583).
I know no one looks at the all-time doubles list when deciding whether to vote someone into the Hall of Fame or not. The writer's mainly concentrate on the career numbers of batting average, home runs and hits. Whether he will have the stats in those areas to get inducted into Cooper's Town when his career is over remains iffy.
But you've got to admit, passing already Hall of Famers in the number of doubles is pretty impressive.
