Florida MLB teams still in first

This was something, among other things, I didn't know .

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, this is just the second time the Tampa Bay Rays and the Florida Marlins have been in sole possession of first place at the same time. The other was in April 2004, when Tampa Bay was 3-1 and Florida 3-2.
Before Wednesday's loss, the Rays were seven games over .500 for the first time ever. At 23-17, they lead the Red Sox by one-half game in the AL East, and their .575 winning percentage is the best in the American League. The Marlins have an identical record and lead the NL East by 1 1/2 games over the Phillies.
I must admit I don't follow the Rays, maybe, as often as I should.  But if someone would've asked me if the Marlins and Rays had ever been alone in first in their respective divisions, I wouldn't have known the definitive answer.
<biting my tongue>
It is nice that both Florida teams are experiencing some time in the sun.
