Breakout the brooms Florida because the NL East leading Marlins are going for the sweep over the Pirates today. (That sentence felt good to write.)
The Marlins starting pitcher is Rick VandenHurk.
The Pirates have Ian Snell on the docket.
Game is 1:10 p.m.
VandenHurk is making his second start of season and the goal in this outing is to actually have some command of his pitches. In his first start of the season he had trouble locating any of his pitches and his pitch count became a problem after three innings. Hopefully adjustments have been made.
The Marlins faced Snell, who is a pretty decent pitcher, twice last season and let's just say things worked out in our favor. I'm not going into more detail, don't want to jinx it.
