Florida Marlins going green

In case you were wondering why your soda at the game didn't have that usual wax and cardboard flavor, there is a reason.

At Florida Marlins and Miami Dolphins games at Dolphin Stadium, sodas are sold in cups made of biodegradable corn starch, said George Torres, spokesman for Dolphins Enterprises. The stadium buys cleaning products made of biodegradable nontoxic "earth-friendly" ingredients, and although they cost more initially, they are bought at full strength and diluted so as not to cost the stadium more, he said.

"Dolphin Stadium is continually exploring ways to conserve energy and adopt practices that are eco-friendly," Torres said. "We believe it makes good business sense and it's the right thing to do."

It is the right thing to do, in my opinion.  I'm all for going green every chance one gets.
