I have great respect for Manny Acta but I have no idea how he said this with a straight face.
Bonifacio, meanwhile, is an "electrifying player" who was tough to part with, Nationals managerManny Acta said.
"That was one of those trades where it hurt both ways," Acta said. "We are very happy getting [Josh]Willingham and [Scott] Olsen, but also we gave up a good player. This is a guy that has a chance to be a top-of-the-lineup guy."
Acta praised Bonifacio's defense at second during his brief stint in Washington, but noted the switch-hitter's struggles from the right side.
So let me see if I understand this, Bonifacio, who can't hit, or at least he hasn't shown it, and who, with all his speed, is a pretty crappy stealer of bases. And he alone was worth trading a 24 year-old lefty who throws 200+ innings and a middle of the order hitter.
I think Oogie Boogie said it best.
You're jokin', you're jokin'
I can't believe my ears
Would someone shut this fella up
I'm drownin' in my tears
It's funny, I'm laughing
You really are too much...
