Josh Johnson signed

As Jrsyeagle reported, the Marlins and Josh Johnson avoid arbitration and reach a deal.

The Marlins have come to terms with right-handed pitcher Josh Johnson on a one-year, $1.4 million contract.

Johnson, who made a successful return from Tommy John surgery last season, was one of nine remaining arbitration-eligible players.

Johnson, who went 12-7 with a 3.10 ERA in 2008, can earn an additional $50,000 in performance bonuses based on games started.

Not too surprising since it is rare for the Marlins to go to arbitration with any player.  They normally work it out before it gets to that point.  Which is a very good thing.

So that is one down, nine to go.
