The Florida Marlins have already changed the location of their Triple-A and Double-A clubs, but their Short-A is holding strong.
General Manager Matt Drayer has announced that the Florida Marlins will be the Jamestown Jammers' parent team for the next two seasons in the New York-Penn League. The player-development relationship with the Florida Marlins started during the 2002 season. The latest deal will keep Florida players coming to Jamestown until the end of the 2010 season. This is something I wholeheartedly approve. I mean, c'mon, I can only learn to spell so many new cities in one year. Luckily for me, the Advanced-A team along with the now announced Short-A team are staying put. It really cuts down on the late night thoughts wondering where the Guppies are playing now.
