Apparently Misty May-Treanor suffered an injury and has called it quits on Dancing with the Stars.
Misty May-Treanor has quit Dancing with the Stars following an injury. ABC confirmed the Olympic gold medalist’s injury on Saturday and now her castmate Brooke Burke confirms she is out of the competition.
“It’s such a sad situation. She did hurt her Achilles tendon. I don’t know if she tore it or she ruptured it. It happened this week. She’s out of the competition, I mean, just like that,” Burke said Monday.
The model added that May-Treanor may have to have surgery. “Forget about the competition. This is her jumping mechanism, so we’re all really concerned for her. She may be having surgery this week. We don’t know yet. But it’s such a bummer,” Burke added.
ABC will make an official announcement concerning the Volleyball star’s condition tonight on Dancing with the Stars.
Man, I hope the information is wrong. Not about her quitting Dancing with the Stars, I couldn't care less about that. But the part about a possible torn Achilles tendon. If true, that would be absolutely awful since it is next to impossible to regain one's old athletic form after that kind of an injury.
I know she was planning on retiring from the professional volleyball circuit, but still, this is no way for a two-time gold medalist to go out.
