A quick check on Eric Reed who is playing the Mexican Pacific League this winter and is doing very well.
The MPL finals kicked off Jan. 22, and Obregon blasted Mazatlan in Game One, 8-0, behind righthander Isaruo Pineda. But Mazatlan turned things around on the road Wednesday night, knocking off Obregon, 3-2 to even the series. Marlins outfielder Eric Reed has been a key player for the Deer, hitting .340.
Reed doesn't factor into any of the Marlins plans, but it is nice to hear he is being a key player for his team in the MPL.
If you read the article it also mentions Miguel Cabrera and list him as being a Marlin, who is playing in Venezuela for the Aragua Tigers. It kinda seems like that if BA could place Cabrera on the Aragua Tigers, they could have done the same thing with Detroit.
