Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Mets at Marlins (9/23)

The Marlins will be looking to even the series today.

The Marlins starting pitcher is Chris Seddon.

The Mets are planning on John Maine taking the mound.

Game time is 1:05 p.m.

Seddon will be making his third start of the season and is going for his first Major League win.  In order for him to achieve it he is going to need go five for the first time.  He didn't pitch that badly last time out but his friends behind him didn't help out all that much.

Maine got shelled in his last outing by the Nationals when he gave up 11 hits and 8 earned runs in 4.1 innings.  He has been a mixed bag this year with some very good starts and some real clunkers.  If he is home run prone, he is going to have a short day.  The good news is that he normally doesn't pitch as well during day games.

Ichthyomancy note: neither Willingham nor Ross is expected to play today.  Josh is resting a sore back and Cody is nursing a sore hamstring.

If you like to see what the Mets faithful are thinking, head on over to Amazin' Avenue.

Ichthyomancy stills loathes day games.
