Renyel Pinto is progressing along and could/should rejoin the team sometime this season.
Left-hander Renyel Pinto could return from the disabled list this weekend after throwing a successful simulation game Tuesday.
Depending on how he feels today, Pinto could pitch another simulated game in Jupiter and rejoin the team in Denver or Atlanta.
"When he comes back we won't use him (in) back-to-back (games) or multiple innings,'' manager Fredi Gonzalez said.
Pinto has been on the disabled list since Aug. 3 with a left shoulder strain. Taylor Tankersley is the only left-hander in the bullpen.
Adding another lefty to the pen would be nice but there isn't any reason to rush him. And it sounds like the club is planning to be careful with him, so that should work.
