Today we are dong facts already placed into evidence.
Maverick was the first report this in the Open Thread. Pinto is on the DL.
Still, the arm ailment has landed Pinto on the disabled list, removing one of the Marlins' most durable relievers for at least 15 days.
The no-throw option may work in this case. But is wouldn't surprise me if surgery is in his future.
Taking his place on the roster, as you already know, falls to Carlos Martinez.
Martinez, a 25-year-old right-hander from the Dominican Republic, is returning to the big leagues for the first time since undergoing Tommy John elbow ligament replacement surgery last July 6.
Don't except Carlos to be the pitcher he was before the surgery. Once a player has Tommy John surgery there is the 12 to 18 month recovery time before he is ready to pitch again. After that, it takes about another 12 months before he returns to his previous form.
