Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Braves at Marlins (8/28)

Okay, look at this way, the Marlins were more competitive in their game last night than the Yankee's were in theirs.  Hey, I can grasp for any silver lining I can find.

The Marlins starting pitcher is Rick VandenHurk.

The Braves have decided to go with some guy by the name of John Smoltz.

Game time is 7:05 p.m.

VandenHurk made his second best start of the season last time out.  He went 5.0 innings and only allowed one earned run.  Expect Rick to go about 5 IP since the club is closely monitoring his amount of work.

Smoltz will be going on three days rest since the Braves are trying to spread the distance between his starts and Hudson's.  There for a time the two were pitching back-to-back and then in the next three games the bullpen was catching the brunt of the duty.  The Braves are trying to set it up so the bullpen can get some rest.

Ichthyomancy is party time ready.
