The Marlins, tonight, begin a four game series with the Giants and all that entails.
The Marlins starting pitcher is Scott Olsen.
The Giants plan to send Barry Zito to the hill.
Game time is 7:05 p.m.
Olsen pitched well in his last two outings and started to show signs of returning to the Olsen of old. Scott does his best work at night and at home. He just needs to limit the number of long balls and do a little better job of missing the bats of the lefties. If he does, he should be fine.
Zito will be making his JRS debut. The Marlins faced him in San Francisco and chased him after just 4 innings scoring 6 runs. Since that time he has started pitching better but does have a susceptibility to giving up the big fly. Left handers tend to have more success against him than righties.
I have no idea, as I'm writing this, who will be the catcher tonight for the Marlins. Olivo is day-to-day after the groin strain. Given that it is Olsen on the hill and he does his best work with Treanor behind the plate, it wouldn't be worse thing if Olivo was given some more time to heal.
