I think it was Dan who brought this up in one of the Open Threads, I could be wrong on that.
But anyway, the Allison story keeps going from bad to worse.
Allison, 22, a first-round draft pick of the Florida Marlins in 2003, was arrested Oct. 25 in Greensboro, N.C., and released on $2,500 bond.
However, he did not show up at his Dec. 28 court date and has been wanted since, said Greensboro police Lt. Brian Cheek.
The Greensboro district attorney's office signed an order to extradite Allison to North Carolina on July 20 and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office picked him up Friday in the Jupiter area, said sheriff's spokesman Paul Miller.
Allison is charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, larceny, possession of a stolen vehicle and failing to appear in court.
On Oct. 25, Allison was spotted driving a Jordan's House of Flowers delivery van that was reported stolen two hours earlier.
This is so truly sad. I don't care if Jeff ever pitches in the Marlins organization, if he can just get his life in order, that will be enough.
