Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Marlins at Padres (7/3)

The Padres were very good host last night in only getting three hits, but being the fabulous guest we are, we helped them turn it into three runs.  So let's try this again without us being so cordial.  The Padres, however, can be as nice as they want to be.

The Marlins starting pitcher is Scott Olsen.

The Padres will trot out Greg Maddux to the hill.

Game time is 10:05 p.m.

Olsen for the most part looked good in his outing and his numbers would even reflect that if the bullpen didn't allow all the inherited runners to score.  The Marlins have won four of his last five starts.  Scott faced the Padres earlier this season going 6.2 innings while giving up only 1 ER but took the loss.

Maddux may not exactly be the Maddux of old but he has been devastating at home so far this season.  Nothing about facing him will be easy.  He walks next to no one, but that's okay, the Fish don't walk.  If he is on, the best strategy may be foul off about a billizon pitches and get him out of the game as soon as possible.

Ichthyomancy is ready for another round.
