Hanley is day to day

If you happened to see it, Ramirez's injury didn't look that bad but he definitely couldn't give maximum effort.  Also there is the fact, that hamstrings can be very hard to predict.

Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez was removed in the third inning during Monday night's 3-1 loss to the Padres with a tight left hamstring.
He is listed as day-to-day.

"I'm going to be here early tomorrow," Ramirez said. "I want to play. Let's see how severe [it is]."

Batting with one out in the third inning, Ramirez ripped a double to right-center off Padres lefty David Wells.

Ramirez felt some discomfort on the swing and noted if not for the pain, he likely would have tried for a triple on the drive into the gap.

Watching Ramirez on the bases from the dugout, Gonzalez opted to take his talented shortstop out before he further damaged the hamstring.

"The best thing here is for him to come out, and not make a day or two thing be a month and a half or two," Gonzalez said.

The team will probably be, or at least should be, very cautious with Hanley.  Don't be completely surprised if he ends up on the 15-day DL.  With any luck, that won't happen.  But it could.
