The Marlins have lost 5 in-a-row and that needs to stop tonight. If it doesn't, this could be the worst road trip in the history of franchise.
The Marlins starting pitcher is Dontrelle Willis.
The Giants have on tap, Matt Cain.
Game time is 9:05 p.m.
Willis made progress in his last start and showed signs of returning to the D-Train of old. He grew up in the Bay Area and will be pitching in front of some of his family members and old friends. Normally when this is the case he gets all hyped up and rushes everything. This year, that may not be a bad thing. The throw in the upper 80s to increase movement on his pitches, hasn't been successful to say the least. Assuming Treanor is catching him again tonight, and he should be, Matty will do what needs to be done to give Dontrelle the best chance of having a good outing. Whether that includes slowing him down or handling Kranitz, if the speed up is working.
Cain can't buy a break. On the few outings where he has pitched very well the Giants haven't scored any runs. The rest of the time he has had trouble getting through the fifth inning, if he even gets that far into the game at all. He has been better in away day games this season and this game is definitely not in the day or away.
