Last night didn't go so well, but you have the admire the way the team fought back.
Tonight is a new night.
The starting pitcher for the Marlins is Sergio Mitre.
The Nationals will trot out Matt Chico to the hill.
Game time is 7:05 p.m.
Mitre is still looking for his first win at JRS. It is not that he has pitched poorly in his previous starts at our home park, in fact, he has a 2.56 ERA at home this season. It is just that he hasn't received much support. I meant to mention this before yesterday's game, but time was a factor. Mitre will be going on six days rest, the same as Dontrelle did last night. Generally when a pitcher gets extra rest his velocity will be up, but his control won't be as sharp as normal. It does help if he is pitching to a catcher who can actually catch.
Chico hasn't given up a run in his last 13 innings, however, he hasn't pitched well against the Marlins this year. He has made three starts against the Fish this season, posting a 8.31 ERA in those starts. Chico is a lefty so expect to see the lefty lineup.
If you make out to the park for tonight's game, there are giveaways galore: the first 5,000 cars get a Marlins license plate holder and also Marlins kazoos will be handed out to the first 25,000 fans through the gates.
After the game Smash Mouth will perform followed by the normal fireworks display when the concert is over.
