Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Marlins at Braves (6/6)

The Marlins will be going for the series win in today's game.  This has been a weird series, in that, on paper, all the pitching match ups have been mismatches with the underdog winning every one of them.  I'm not exactly sure who would be the favorite today.

The Marlins starting pitcher is Scott Olsen.

The Braves will trot Kyle Davies out to the hill.

Game time is 1:05 p.m.

Olsen recently has pitched pretty well the first time through the order and the second time through it gets a little rough.  By the third time through, we get to see the bullpen.  Scott leads the team in K/9 IP.  He just needs to mix up his pitches as he goes through the order again and he should be fine.  On the down side, Olsen is a creature of the night and he does better under the lights.  His day game ERA for the season is 6.52.

If Davies is on he can be really tough, but if he isn't, he can be rocked.  He has never beaten the Marlins in his career while posting a 9.68 ERA against the Fish.  Davies pitches better on the road and at night.

Ichthyomancy is still hating day games.  By the way, who drew up this schedule, cause it sucks.  This is the third day game already this week and the Marlins record in day games ranks next to last in the NL.  Yes, I realize it is a get away game but the team is headed back to Florida afterwards which isn't exactly a cross country trip.  Oh well.
