The Marlins welcome the Pittsburgh Pirates to South Florida for a three game set.
The Marlins starting pitcher is Dontrelle Willis.
The Pirates plan to send Paul Maholm to the mound.
Game time is 7:05 p.m.
Willis was pushed back for this start due to forearm tightness. He took the loss against the Pirates earlier this season after allowing only two runs on six hits in six innings. While the Marlins would love to get Dontrelle the win, that doesn't seem as important as Willis being able to pitch without discomfort. The team has most of the schedule yet to play and a healthy Dontrelle is very much needed.
Maholm is the NL's hardest luck pitcher. His team is providing him with the lowest run support of any starter in the league. The Pirates are only averaging 2.85 runs in his starts this season. Maholm is lefty, so look for the Marlins to field their lineup accordingly.
