The Marlins are going for four wins in a row tonight and not to mention the series win.
The Marlins starting pitcher is Josh Johnson.
The Twins have on tap Carlos Silva.
Game time is 7:05 p.m.
This is Johnson's second start of the season. In his first, he was a bit rusty leaving most every pitch up and over the plate, when he did manage to throw a strike. He is still working his way back into form, but expect to see some improvement over his last outing.
Silva is a mixed bag, in that he has pitched some very good games this season along with a few awful ones. If he is on, he will be trouble. If not, fire up the merry-go-around. Silva tries to induce ground balls but doesn't always succeed in that endeavor.
A couple of things to cover: Colombo's sources at ESPN were mostly correct about the Marlins after game transactions. Jacobs is returning to the team but in sending down Abercrombie, he was optioned and not DFA'd. Expect Jacobs to start in tonight's game.
The other news is that Justin Morneau won't be available for a couple of days, at least. In the collision with Olivo, he suffered a lung contusion (read bruise). While it was a very clean play and a part of the game, we never like to see anyone get injured. Hopefully Morneau will be as good as new very soon. Like in the Twins next series.
