Dr. Andrews plans to look around in Anibal's shoulder today to determine the problem.
Right-hander Anibal Sanchez will have arthroscopic surgery on his ailing right shoulder today in Birmingham, Ala..
Dr. James Andrews, who examined Sanchez on Wednesday, will perform the exploratory procedure.
"I don't think they know exactly what it is, but they're going to need to take a look," Marlins General Manager Larry Beinfest said. "Obviously he's going to have surgery, so it's going to be awhile [before he returns]. Shoulders are tough."
I guess it is in the realm of possibilities that Dr. Andrews will just look around and do nothing, but that isn't the way to bet. If he does most anything at all, Sanchez will probably be out for the season.
