The Marlins continue on their trek through the AL Central and tonight it is the White Sox.
Since I received an email asking me why they are the "Sox" and not the "Socks" and generally it has been my experience that if one person asks, others have the same question. The starting pitcher for the Marlins is Josh Johnson.
The White Sox have José Contreras ready to go.
Game time is 8:11 p.m.
Johnson is making his season debut for the Marlins. Josh hasn't pitched for the team since Sept. 12 of last season. In his rehab starts he pitched 15.1 innings, striking out 16 while only giving up 3 runs, however he did walk 5. It will be good to welcome him back.
Contreras was the opening day starter for the Sox, however his last outing was a disaster giving up 7 runs in 3.1 innings. He at times this year has pitched pretty well but his team hasn't provided much run support. Which isn't surprising since the White Sox have the worst team batting average in the majors at .233.
