Last night didn't go so well but I think I found the reason why.
Samson can and does spoil everything. Hopefully he isn't sticking around for the entire series since being swept wouldn't be that much fun. It would be definitely for the best if the Marlins bad luck troll traveled to somewhere else.
Since Kauffman Stadium was brought up, I'm not exactly sure what the plans entail in renovating it. But I have been there a few times and it is absolutely gorgeous. A great place to watch a game and seeing it on television doesn't do it justice. But I guess the Royals organization has something in mind.
Anyway, on with the game and it is time to win one of these.
The Marlins starting pitcher is Rick Vanden Hurk.
The Royals have on tap Jorge De La Rosa.
Game time is 7:10 p.m.
Vanden Hurk's lone win this season came on the road with his two loses being at home. It is very possible Rick can put together a good outing against the Royals lineup. While the sample size is really small, he has so far followed a bad start with a very good one. Treanor really needs to catch Vanden Hurk, but that probably isn't going to happen.
De La Rosa is a lefty, so look for the Marlins lefty lineup. He has been a mixed bag this season. When he is good, he is very good. When he is bad, he can be lit up like a christmas tree. The biggest problem the Marlins face today is that he is a soft throwing lefty. And the Fish generally don't do very well against that type of pitcher.
In other news, Cabrera is scheduled to be the DH today. Boone will play third with Wood holding down first base.
If you are looking for info about the Royals, run, don't walk to Royals Review. It is one of the very best sites on the web covering the Royals. And it just so happens, it is also a part of the SB Nation.
