The Marlins are off on a six game road trip to play the rest of the AL Central. First up will be the Kansas City Royals.
The Marlins starting pitcher is Sergio Mitre.
The Royals will trot out Gil Meche to the hill.
Game time is 8:10 p.m.
Mitre's start was pushed back in order to give his hamstring a little extra time to recover. Since the Marlins will be playing under AL rules, the DH will be employed tonight and Sergio won't have to bat or run the bases. And that should be a bonus. Mitre hasn't allowed an ER in his last 23 2/3 innings. However, the Marlins have only scored 5 runs total in his last three starts.
Meche is a righty and has lost his last 5 starts. But before you get too excited, he has a 3.16 ERA and averages 2.72 K/BB. The reason he has been losing is because his offense has generated next to no run support. The Royals have only scored 2 runs in his last five starts.
