Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Marlins at Cubs (5/29)

The Marlins are off to a good start on the road trip and look to continue that tonight.

The Marlins starting pitcher is Dontrelle Willis.

The Mets will counter with Jason Marquis.

Game time is 8:05 p.m.

Willis is the Marlins consummate road warrior on the mound.  And Wrigley is one of his favorite venues, he is 2-1 with an ERA 1.60 in five starts.  It kinda makes you wonder why the Cubs traded him to the Marlins in 2002.  But I'm glad they did.

Marquis has been hot and cold this year.  When he is good, he is very good.  But if he has having an off night the opposing team can put some runs up on the board.  The key is to get runners on and into scoring position.  He doesn't pitch as well out of the stretch.

A note: while all the SB Nation sites are excellent there a few that FishStripes has a very close relationship with and one of those is Bleed Cubbie Blue.  Don't ask me how this happened since I've never cared much for the Cubs, but Al and the BCBers (or whatever they are called) are some of the best folks around and they make it impossible not to like them.  So if you get the chance, check them out.  They are a good group.

Ichthyomancy is back to its regular night game routine and the game starts a hour later than normal, so getting your selections in should be relatively easy.
