Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Phillies at Marlins (5/23)

The Marlins will be looking to even up their season record tonight.

The Marlins starting pitcher is Byung-Hyun Kim.

The Phillies have on tap Freddy Garcia.

Game time is 7:05 p.m.

Kim did fairly decently in his first start for the Marlins.  The only thing that got him into trouble was the long ball.  But it should be easier to keep the ball in the park in JRS than it was in Tropicana.  He has started twice against the Phillies, in the past, but has yet to record a win.

Garcia will be making his second career start against the Fish.   In his first start he didn't make it to the fifth, due to throwing way too many pitches.  Garcia doesn't walk many hitters, while putting up decent strikeout numbers, however, he does allow a fair amount of hits.  His success depends on whether he can spot his fast ball.  If he can't, his slider becomes ineffective.

Ichthyomancy is ready for action.
