Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Phillies at Marlins (5/22)

The Marlins have returned to South Florida after the ten game road trip.

Door's open, bed's made.  Welcome Home.

The Fish start a six-game home stand against two of their NL East rivals tonight.  First up are the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Marlins starting pitcher is Scott Olsen.

The Phillies will send their ace to the mound, Cole Hamels.

Game time is 7:05 p.m.

Olsen has pitched reasonably well so far this month, allowing no more than 3 ER in his appearances in May.  Sadly, he hasn't had much run support.  And hopefully, he won't get hit in the foot again tonight.

Hamels is a lefty and has a propensity to strikeout a lot of batters.  The most encouraging stat is he has never beaten the Marlins in JRS.  Sure, he has only made one start against them in Florida and that was last season.  But the fact still remains.

Tonight is CPA appreciation night, so if you get to ballpark by 4:30 p.m. you can hear a seminar about auditing and accounting. It's almost killing me to do so, but I will refrain from comment.

Oh, rain is big time present in the forecast. So if we do get this one in, it could be a long night. With any luck, the meteorologist are wrong about this.

Ichthyomancy is well rested after taking a breather yesterday.
