Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Marlins at Pirates (5/17)

The Marlins will be going for the series win tonight in Pittsburgh.

The Marlins starting pitcher is Ricky Nolasco.

The Pirates are planning to trot Tony Armas to the mound.

Game time is 7:05 p.m.

Nolasco had some velocity and control issues in his last start but only gave up one run in that outing.  In his only career start against the Bucs, he shut them out for 7.1 innings while only allowing four hits.  He will probably still be on a pitch count, my guess, 100 max.

Armas, tonight, will be pitching to see if he remains in the rotation or if he gets to spit sunflower seeds with the other members of the bullpen in the future.  Armas hasn't done very well against the Marlins in the past.  Last year he didn't win any of his four starts against the Fish while posting a 9.60 ERA.  He is a pitcher with his back against the wall and sometimes they can be scary.

Ichthyomancy is more than ready.

Here's today's Ichthyomancy pick table:
