Jacobs to the DL?

Jacobs could be looking at time on the DL.

His right thumb will be re-evaluated and the disabled list is a possibility.

"I didn't want to go on the disabled list, but I might have to do it," Jacobs said. "I don't have enough strength in my lower hand with the protective shield that I'm using to hold the bat without pain. I just can't grip it firmly."

If this does happen, I suppose Boone will get most of the starts at first, with the pinch hitting duties falling to Wood.  It is pretty apparent that Jacobs is in pain and should the DL be in his future, it won't be a surprise.
