Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Phillies at Marlins (4/7)

The Marlins didn't exactly put their best foot forward when playing in front of, what could be, the biggest home crowd of the season.  To top it off Miguel Olivo hurt his thumb trying to stretch a triple into a inside-the-park home run.

Olivo is day-to-day and the present thinking is that he will heal quickly.  Should Treanor leave the lineup for any reason, either Willingham or Jacobs will serve as the emergency catcher.  If Olivo's injury is of the persistent kind, the organization will make a move and call up Paul Hoover.  The home opener could have gone better, to say the least.

But today is another day and the Marlins get to try it again.

The starting pitcher for the Marlins is Dontrelle Willis.

The Phillies have on tap Brett Myers.

Game time is 7:05 p.m.

While Dontrelle didn't have much luck against the Phillies last season, he has historically pitched very well against them at home.  His career home numbers against the Phillies: 4-3 with a 2.58 ERA.

As for Myers, he has logged a career 3.56 ERA with only one loss in eight starts in JRS.  That's pretty good but it doesn't tell the whole story.  The Phillies are 1-7 when Myers starts in JRS.
