No Game Today

The Marlins are off today but that doesn't mean there isn't something to celebrate.

Fourteen years ago, on this day, the Marlins played their first game in franchise history.  Their opponent was the Dodgers.  It was also the Marlins first win.

The starting lineup for the Fish was:

Pose cf
Barberie 2b
Felix rf
Destrade 1b
Magadan 3b
Santiago c
Conine lf
Weiss ss
Hough p

Hopefully you were lucky enough to see the Marlins rack up 10 hits and five runs against Orel Hershiser and chase him after five innings.  And to also watch Conine go four for four with two runs scored, with Weiss hitting a triple to drive in two and Pose, in his major league debut, get his first hit.  Not to mention Hough pitching 6 good innings along with Harvey getting the save.

It was a good day.  Sadly, I didn't get to see it, but maybe you did.

Here is the box score from the game:  Marlins 6 Dodgers 3
