Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Marlins at Phillies (4/29)

The Marlins are going for their third straight series win today.  In case you haven't noticed, the Marlins have logged a hit in every inning for the last 21 innings.  That said, hopefully I didn't just jinx them.

The Marlins starting pitcher is Wes Obermueller.

The Phillies will trot out Jamie Moyer.

Game time is 1:35 p.m.

Obermueller had a very good outing in his first start for the Fish, going 6 innings while allowing only 2 runs and striking out 5.  But that was against the Nats and the Phillies lineup is somewhat more potentially potent than the Nats.  This should be an interesting test.  Oh, if you would like to read a short interviewing with Obermueller about his time in Japan, here it is: 60 seconds with Marlins pitcher Wes Obermueller.  I found it interesting.

Moyer throws slow, slower and slowest.  The young Marlins need to be patient at the plate.  Something they weren't able to do when they faced him earlier this season.  In that game, Moyer went 6.2 innings and allowed only 2 runs.

Ichthyomancy is awake and ready for a day game.  But it is a day game so be sure to get your picks in on time.
