I've never figured out why it works this way. Every time the AVP comes to the Miami area, the Marlins are on the road.
Misty May-Treanor, wife of Marlins catcher Matt Treanor and one of the top female players on the AVP pro beach volleyball tour, is in Miami to play in the AVP's season-opening stop this weekend.
This is the third year in-a-row. I have no idea whether the AVP is threatened by the massive 10,000 person crowd that the Marlins draw and feel their event would somehow lose attendance. Or if it is just a stroke of bad luck.
Whatever the reason, while Misty is in Miami, Matt will be in Atlanta. They just can't catch a break.
