Also listed in the table are the odds from February (right before spring training) and December 2006 (the first listing of the odds after the World Series), to give you an idea how the teams are tracking.

The Marlins are dropping like a rock. Quick, hurry, start the season before we are arm wrestling the Nats for the cellar.
I suspect that the injuries to the pitchers and the bats sleeping through spring training had something to do with the fall from grace.
Marlins aside, some of the other teams made stunning moves.

Let's get one more check on what the oddsmakers think of the NL East.
The Odds to win the National League East
Team | Apr. Odds | Feb. Odds |
New York Mets | 10/11 | 1/3 |
Philadelphia Phillies | 11/10 | 4/1 |
Atlanta Braves | 3/1 | 7/1 |
Florida Marlins | 12/1 | 6/1 |
Washington Nationals | 75/1 | 40/1 |
Oh, the over/under for the total number of wins for the Marlins is 76 ½ .
The more distant the memory of seeing the Marlins play the easier they are to discount. Naturally, you could bring in spring training stats as your support for the decision to discount them. But counting on spring training stats to predict how a team will preform in a 162 game season is a fool's game.
