Spring Training an Attendance Success

The final attendance numbers for spring training improved from last season.

With Thursday's attendance of 5,790 for the spring's final home game, the Marlins drew 78,309 fans to Roger Dean Stadium, a 17 percent increase over last year. Their average attendance was 4,894.

Which brings up the question: what does this indicate for regular season attendance?  And the answer is:  Not one stinkin' thing.  It has been my experience that increases in spring training attendance have little or no correlation to the Marlins regular season attendance.  But still, it is nice that more people made it out to Roger Dean Stadium to see the Fish.  If you didn't get to this year, hopefully you will get to take in spring training next season.
